woah, realised it's almost 3 months since the last post. it's not that i don't have the time, more like i m too lazy to bother. but i guess i better write something for my last sem in uni, in case my poor memory fails me in a few years time and everything will be a blur...
i guess i should start from the time i left off in the last post
FEBRUARY
basically is the craziest month for me. i don't remember if i ever mentioned in previous posts, but i signed up to be part of the organising committee for this event called GSLTLC2012. it is somewhat similar to the ASEAN Youth Forum i participated in when i was in MD, where students from overseas come to NUS to *cough* share ideas and make new friends. Anyway i was thinking since it's the final semester already, might as well join this to further "enrich" my uni life hahaha. i was part of the academic team, and due to ppl puling out and whatnots, i was suddenly promoted to Director position, hahaha sounds like very pro like that hor, but to be honest i don't think i did a lot as director. i wasn't able to fully commit myself to the event in the end, cos i overestimated my ability to juggle this and fyp together. i guess i only did the bare minimum for the event and gave up the chance to really get to know more people and interact with them. most of the bonding took place during the travel sessions and stayovers at the chalet, which i din even attend any sessions at all. though i heard the chalet condition was really bad lol...but still...anyway after the event is over, i did wonder..what did i really gain from it? friends? not really..experience? but it's not like it's anything special, unless you count mass emailing professors and waiting for their replies in agony..chasing after people, trying not get mad at irresponsible member an unforgettable experience?
after the event it was full steam for fyp. now that i think back, fyp seemed like a distant memory. amazed that i actually completed the project, though quality wise hahahaha...i guess halfway i really got sian already and just want to complete the freaking thing. crazy period where few days were spent typing into the wee hours of the morning and sleeping at weird hours like 3-4am. it was the period where my biological clock was terribly screwed. ah and i gila gila still went to help out for EMCC, i m such a dedicated member hahahaha...EMCC is no longer like the EMCC i used to know, so hard pressed to look for ppl who are willing to help, damn sad...anyway progress for fyp was quite smooth and i still had time to sort of revise for midterms which were piling up after thesis submission date.
and because of midterms, there wasn't really anytime for me to rest after thesis submission, lol i din even submit my own thesis first draft, had to ask jr to help. so while other ppl were "celebrating" by uploading photos of themselves with thesis and whatnots, i din really feel that much.
MARCH
i suppose i could say march is a happy month for me. after thesis submission and midterm tests, i can fully appreciate my quite empty timetable with 3 modules this sem. prior to submission all the free time i have is for fyp, now that the thesis has been submitted, all the free time is mine mine mine! though i should be catching up on the 3modules that i've neglected, but meh...I DON'T CARE hahaha...
siong came to singapore so went for lunch with him,sy,lyn at holland v. had mex food! i love exotic, nicely presented food heh...realised din take pictures again haih...then very spontaneously decided to go sentosa's casino wheee....but really no luck hahaha. lyn won $40 and treated us to jap dinner at vivo :D
next day went to KL to meet my parents! i guess this trip is kinda spontaneous as well. i've been thinking whether i should go cos there are still drugs project and fyp oral presentation to worry about, but in the end still went cos want to manja a bit lol...i told my mom over skype one day "我要去kl找你们sayang我一下" hahaha i guess i don't really manja that often cos she was a bit surprised? lol so big already still 撒娇,but anyway she said "你来咯” so off i go to KL...totally worth it lol...no need to act like big sister and take care of siblings, just do/eat whatever i want hahaha...
still in holiday mood when i got back, but oral presentations for fyp started already. thank goodness i had the sense to schedule mine quite late. we had to attend at least 4 sessions as part of assessment, so again, did the minimum and attended 4. started to work on my own slides and prepare for my oral presentation. but still had time to watch drama hehehe...quite a feat cos i actually finished 2 drama series this sem (oncall and u'r beautiful)...in less than 2 weeks. i think it was also around mid march that i received a call from msd for group interview. i din really put high hopes on it since it's a group interview, and i din really prep much for it cos bz with oral presentation. my initial plan was to start job hunting proper after oral presentation is done. but surprisingly i got called back for the final interview and got an offer! not going to complain about the good fortune i have. accommodation is also another stroke of good fortune i feel...initially there were some problems (to put it lightly.. hahaha 10+yrs friendship in jeopardy sy?) but all settled in the end so i m very thankful.
oral presentation day came. i think i presented okay, just that i died badly during q&a. it's been a while since submission, and i din really went to review what i did, so when my prof grilled mei was totally roasted. jr and waiyee were there near the end to witness the bbq process hahaha...but once it was over it was total relief! it din really bug me that much, and we girls went for a relaxing french lunch~
and then it's another short bz period dedicated to the drugs project before joining my aunt and family for a short holiday in singapore end of march. a bit dizzy from overdose of children hahaha all wanted to hold my hand, wanted to get my attention lol...i forgot how it was like back home when the cousins came to visit...went along to visit touristy places, had another go on the flyer and rode the ducktour thingy. finally tried popeye's and boy it was damn good...after they went home i was a bit emo, but that's to be expected lah...distracted myself by starting on another drama hahahaha
